We have been using PVS for over 10 years. Love the practice. They see all our animals... dogs, cats, horse, cows, and all our goats that we export through out the world. We couldn't ask for a better more personalized feel using this vet office. We've been to others closer to where we live and we always felt like just another number. We live just over an hour away and the drive to them is worth it ten fold! Ignore the bad reviews that I've seen on other sites. Never have I felt like just another client and I don't just love them, my pets do too!
I use Panhandle vet for all three of my fur babies. They have been wonderful through all their visits. One of my little guys got attacked by a raccoon. He almost died. They fixed him good as new
Then, I did a few searches online, and guess what... little guy didn't have to be in jail. First and foremost, the idea that humans can get scabies from dogs is false... a well known myth among knowledgeable vets, which these people are not!!! So, we could have been handling and giving him love this whole time.
On Easter weekend my sister-in-law came home to find her little fella in serious pain and was actually in the course of going to doggy heaven. Panhandle vet was the only one who responded to all the phone calls we made to try to get him put to sleep. Poor fella was 14. Dr. George met us there. He was so compassionate. Even though he has probably had to do this so many times, he still treated us with so much feeling and respect. Afterwards he put his hand on her shoulder ever so gently and told her how sorry he was for her loss. The prices that they charge for emergency services as well as shots and "wellness " is very competitive as well. The facility has always been clean when we visit as well. Thank you Panhandle Vet. We love you,
First and foremost, this isn't a bad review because of the customer service or cost, those were both great. The problem is that these people don't know what they are talking about.
Dr.George has been caring for our horses cats and dogs for years. Wonderful people to care for your family of pets
So, not only has our new little guy missed out on love from us, he's missed out on love from the rest of the family and been secluded when he could have been playing and getting to know his sisters! I will never return to this vet. With mange being a relatively small issue in the grand scheme of things, and them seemingly knowing nothing about it, bringing animals there for more serious conditions may be a big mistake!!! They may not know how to treat it, and even worse, lie and say that they do. Again, the people were friendly, the cost was good, but I'd rather deal with a jerk and pay double in the process if it meant that my babies were taken care of properly!
Also, dogs treated with various flee and tick treatments cannot catch the scabies that cause mange either. The same vet treated my other 3 dogs with a treatment that falls into this category, so, my other 3 dogs have nothing to be concerned about.
Too expensive. Extremly long wait.
I brought a puppy that I found on the side of the road there. Poor guy was infested with mange, ticks, fleas, and just about every worm outside of heart worm. The vet said that we need to be very careful handling him because we could catch scabies from him if we handled him too much. They also told us not to bring him around our other dogs for 2 full weeks to ensure that they didn't catch the condition themselves. As a result, the poor little guy has been in a cage for a week in my brother's house away from my other dogs, wondering why he can't come out and play.
